Grants in Aid

Grants in aid are cash coming from fundamental government for a detailed assignment. This kind of funding is usually used when the government and parliament have decided that the receiver should publish the fund and operate with reasonable independence from the state. Such funds of grants in aid are usually accompanied by requirements and standards set by the governing body for how they are to be spent. There are some foundations that apply for grants in aid. Two popular foundation is Whitehall Foundation and AAPG Foundation Grants.

Grants in aid of AAPG Foundation Grants

The idea of the AAPG Foundation’s Grants in aid program is to promote research in the geosciences. Grants in Aid are made to offer financial support to graduate students  who currently enrolled in Masters or Ph.D. programs whose thesis research has request to the search for and development of petroleum and energy-mineral resources, and to related ecological geology issues. Grants in aid range from $1,000 to $3,000 and are to be applied to expenses unswervingly related to the student’s thesis work, such as field work, laboratory analyses, etc. Funds are not to be used for capital equipment, conferences, salaries, tuition, room, and board during the school year. Grants in aid of Whitehall Foundation

The Whitehall Foundation, through its program of grants and grants-in-aid, assists scholarly research in the life sciences. Grants in aid are available to established scientists of all ages working at accredited association in the United States. Grants in aid program is designed for researchers at the assistant professor level who experience difficulty in competing for research funds because they have not yet become firmly established. Grants in Aid  can also be made to senior scientists. All applications will be judged on the scientific merit and innovative aspects of the proposal, as well as on past performance and evidence of the applicant’s continued output. Grants in aid are awarded for a one-year period and do not exceed $30,000. Investigators who have already received, or expect to receive, extensive support from other sources will not get Grants in aid.
